The Process

First, let’s talk about how this works. Here’s my process…

01. GET IN TOUCH

Tell me all about your wedding! Even better: SHOW me what you like. Send me pictures and links to Pinterest boards for inspiration. Be sure to include your wedding date and any time constraints.

02. CONSULTATION

I love this part. If you’re in the Pittsburgh area, I’d love to meet for a cup of coffee and an in-person consultation. This gives me a chance to get to know you and better understand your vision, and it gives you a chance to see and feel the different paper options, color swatches, and printing processes. The consultation is meant to be fun, exciting, and productive — and above all: stress-free. You will NOT be pressured into making any final decisions or signing anything during the consultation. That’s not how I roll.

03. PROPOSAL

Once I have a pretty good idea of what you want, I’ll crunch some numbers and send you a Proposal. If you wish to move forward, the contract will then be sent to you for signing.

04. RETAINER

Immediately following the contract, an invoice will be sent for the Retainer. The Retainer is 50% of the contracted amount and can be paid online. Please note: For custom items requiring handcrafting and/or assembly right away, the retainer may be as much as 100% of the contracted amount.

05. DESIGN

And now the magic begins! I’ll begin working feverishly on developing a digital proof of your invitation suite. If I have any questions along the way, I’ll email you. Otherwise, I’ll reach out to you once your proof is ready.

06. PROOF APPROVAL

After receiving your proof, you have an opportunity to request changes. Double check spelling, and make sure that all of the content is correct and to your liking. Usually 1-3 rounds of edits are made before the proof is approved for print. It’s all happeninggggg

07. PRINT

If you have a remaining balance, it would be due at this time. Don’t worry, I’ll send you another invoice so you know payment is due. Once you’re paid in full, your order is sent to the printer. Yay! At this point, no additional changes can be made. Specialty inks and certain services – such as envelope addressing – have a longer print lead time. Though print times vary, it’s best to allow at least 4 weeks for printing — longer if your project includes any assembly or additional labor. I’ll give you an estimate based on your project.

08. ASSEMBLY + PACKAGING

Once your items are printed, I’ll lovingly add the finishing touches and package everything for delivery.

09. LOVE

Time to oooh and ahhh over the finished product. Look at what magic we created together! Don’t forget to tell your friends, and share the love online. Happy reviews on my Facebook page make my day

Investment + Turnaround

INVESTMENT

Much of what I offer is custom, so pricing really depends on what you want. Custom work = custom pricing. However, you will always know pricing prior to commitment.

Pricing is affected by the paper and envelopes selected, the elements of your requested design, and any embellishments including envelope liners and belly bands. The number of insert cards in an invitation suite also affects price, as will any assembly required. While every couple is different, my wedding clients typically invest $1,600-$2,400 on wedding invitations on average.

TURNAROUND

Turnaround is also affected by what you want. Most of the time, I can have a digital proof for you to view 1-2 weeks after the Retainer is paid. After a proof is approved, printing and processing typically take about 3-5 weeks. If assembly is required, it may be longer.

I LOVE what I do, and I pride myself on working as efficiently as possible. Even still, when it comes to reaching out to me about a design project, the sooner the better.
